This post reproduces selected remarks, statements, and papers delivered at the Baluchistan International Conference, National Press Club, Washington, D.C., Nov. 21, 2009.

By way of background, in a 14 November 2008 letter to Senator Hillary Clinton, Mr. Ahmar Mustikhan, the founder of American Friends of Baluchistan (AFB; also on Facebook), writes: “The A.F.B. is delighted honorable Vice President-elect Joe Biden has long been a strong advocate of balkanization of artificially created, unnatural states which can breed nothing but terrorism and instability for the world, just like Pakistan.”

According to the notice posted on the Baluchwarna website the Conference was to be presided over by Mehran Baluch, and was to be addressed by: Selig S. Harrison, T. Kumar, Saghir Shaikh, Robert R. Selle, Annie Nocenti, Andrew Eiva, Prof Gul Agha, Ismail Ameeri. Ali Arjemandi, Mohammad Ali Baloch, Munir Mengal, Dr. Zafar Baloch, Dr. Karim Abdian, Aziz Baloch, Humaira Rahman, Mumtaz Khan and Malik Baloch.

It is unclear who attended the Conference and who sent in their contribution. The following however are selected from what is posted on the site (accessed on 14 July 2010):
