Suspected American Terrorists Arrested in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: The United States has said it has taken seriously the reports about torture of five young American Muslims now detained in a Pakistani jail.

“We take seriously all reports of abuse and torture and raise such allegations with the Government of Pakistan,” the State Department Office of Spokesman told the State Department Press Corps in an email statement last night.
“Consular officials visit the five detained US citizens regularly and will continue to visit the defendants as appropriate. We cannot comment further because of privacy considerations,” the State Department said.

The State Department issued the statement following new reports that these five Virginia men who were picked up by the Pakistani Government are making allegations that they were tortured by Pakistani law enforcement.

Videos have appeared with they [sic.] screaming in English, “We’ve been tortured by the Pakistanis,” in the last 24 hours.
