Notes on the US Budget for FY2011 as it Affects Afghanistan and Pakistan

Yemen

While Yemen is not yet a declared battle front, the United States has been covertly at war in that country for some years. Based on such data on the FY2011 budget request as are identified by recipient country in the Executive Budget Summary provided by the State Department, the following amounts have been allocated to Yemen:

GH&CS: Global Health & Child Survival; ESF: Economic Support Fund; INCLE: International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement; IMET: International Military Education and Training; FMF: Foreign Military Financing.

Based on the numbers so far available, no funds have been requested for Yemen from the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program. Also, a detailed breakdown for Non-Proliferation, Anti-terrorism, De-mining, & Related Programs (NADR) is only available functionally, and not by countries.
